Job DescriptionJob DescriptionThe Truck Technician will specialize in the maintenance and repair of heavy-duty trucks, operating primarily as a solo technician. This role requires proficiency in vehicle diagnostics, system troubleshooting, and quality inspections, often utilizing OEM and third-party diagnostic software as well as manual methods. The technician must ensure safety compliance and perform preventive maintenance, with occasional travel to various job sites. Availability for on-call emergency repairs is also a key aspect of this position.
Responsibilities
Perform vehicle diagnostics and system troubleshooting on heavy-duty trucks
Conduct repair maintenance and parts replacement to ensure optimal truck function
Carry out quality inspections and ensure compliance with safety regulations
Calibrate equipment and manage tools effectively
Use OEM and third-party diagnostic software alongside manual diagnostic techniques
Travel occasionally to different job sites as required
Provide on-call support for emergency repairs
Preferred Qualifications
2+ years of experience in truck maintenance
Technical diploma in Diesel Mechanics or a related field
Expertise in diesel engine repair, hydraulic and electrical systems
Knowledge of brake systems and preventive maintenance practices
Proficiency with diagnostic tools and OEM software
Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude
Effective communication skills
