Job Opportunity: Tube Mill OperatorHeidtman Tubular Products, a Heidtman Steel company, is seeking a dedicated, experienced Tube Mill Operator to join our team in Erie, MI, as we consider adding additional shifts to our operation - 2nd & 3rd shift opportunities available. We are looking for individuals who are committed to maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency in our production processes.Some responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Ensure the tube mill is greased as preventative maintenance requiresEnsure micrometers are calibrated at the start of the day and at changeoversEnsure efficiency and run rates are consistently metEnsure a quality product is producedTake an active lead during changeovers, breakdowns, bottlenecks, and scheduled downtimeAbility to set up and operate the mill independentlyEffectively communicate with others on the line to meet quality and operation standardsFill out all operating reports and quality reports as requiredReport any irregularities or malfunctions to managers and/or maintenance for correctionAssist maintenance in making repairsMaintain a clean and safe work areaOther duties as assignedRequirements2-3 years' experience operating Tube Mill – independently can set up and operate Tube MillTechnical experience with outside diameter tube coating is a plusStrong attention to detail and commitment to quality.Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team.Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.Basic problem-solving skills to address production challenges.Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skillsMust be able to follow written and verbal instructionsMust be able to read measuring devices/equipmentForklift/Overhead crane experience, (preferred)High School Diploma/GED (preferred, not required)Company Information:Heidtman Steel is a leading service center network with over 70 years of excellence in steel processing and customer-focused solutions.
