Two Dermatology Medical Assistants-Experienced OnlyFirst MedCare is a Canarsie, Brooklyn based, top-rated multi-specialty medical practice offering quality care to patients throughout the New York City metropolitan area. At our state-of-the-art facility on Flatlands Avenue, patients receive the most advanced treatment options in Cardiology, Dentistry, Dermatology, Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, General Surgery, Gynecology, Ophthalmology, Pediatrics, Podiatry, Mental Health, Psychology, and Urology. In addition, our Urgent Care Center offers diagnostic services onsite for greater convenience and faster care.First Medcare treats patients of all ages, from infants to seniors, for a continuum of care that evolves with the needs of each patient.Job DescriptionIdeal candidate will have experience in DermatologyTriage all patients and document basic medical history, procedures and care providedEHR Updates, Patient RegistrationAssist during medical examinations, procedures and outpatient surgeriesPrepare and clean treatment roomsPrepare procedure traysProvide patients with instruction for their home care and send in prescriptions/lab ordersAutoclave medical instrumentsAssist with patients' photos for cosmetic procedures, Assist with numbing and prepping them for cosmetic proceduresComplete prior authorizations for medicationsReturn patient calls regarding questions, medications, home care instructions, prior authorizations, etcCall patients regarding pathology and assist them in getting them scheduled for follow up treatments appropriatelyProduce and distribute correspondence memos, letters, faxes and forms as needed for providers and patients. Skills :Proven work experience as a medical assistant - minimum 6 months required.Knowledge of medical office management systems and procedures is preferredExcellent time management skills and ability to multi-task, be efficient and prioritize workSocial perceptiveness and service orientedExcellent bedside mannerTeam player is a must!Excellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong organizational and planning skillsPays attention to detail and is able to critically thinkAbility to be flexible, reliable and available to work some Saturdays, if necessaryDegree in medical assistance - preferred.Additional Information We offer: Excellent compensation401KGenerous vacation and holiday timeHealth benefitsFlexible work environmentMalpractice insurance
