UFT HousekeeperBay 44th St. - Brooklyn, NY 11214OverviewSalary Range $17.50 Hourly Position Type Part Time Education Level High School Diploma / GED Category Installation - Maint - RepairDescriptionESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned:Maintaining all aspects of the building (interior and exterior) by performing any necessary minor repairs. Minor repairs can include, but are not limited to certain aspects of: Plumbing, Electrical, Painting, Wall repair, Carpentry, Masonry, Basic construction and repair, Basic appliance repair.Knowledge of fire codes / safetyMove furniture when necessaryInstall, build, assemble Program equipmentShovel sidewalks of ice/snowAttend in-service trainingsReport any safety/maintenance hazards to your supervisor and repairing what can be repairedRespond to work orders in a timely basis and provide exceptional customer serviceBe available to drive for any given program, in case of emergency, when availableAttend scheduled meetings with the Facilities Supervisor and/or ManagerMust be able to follow verbal and written instructionsLight plumbing, change faucets, pull and reinstall rear mount toilets, snake drains with a power snakeInteract appropriately and follow all regulatory items concerning the individuals we serveMandatory attendance at required in-service training, along with ability to absorb and demonstrate compliance with all regulations and Block Institute policy and procedure requirements is required for this positionTroubleshooting and making routine repairs in the following areas:PaintingMinor ElectricalMinor PlumbingQualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED3 Years Experience PreferredA valid NYS Drivers' License
