Responsibilities
nAs a User Interface/User Experience Designer Technical Writer at Noblis you will be part of our telecommunications tool suite software development team supporting our federal government client. As part of the software development team, you will be assisting all components of Suite to include telecommunication ordering, inventory management tracking, funding and budgeting tracking, and contract transition planning with your effective user experience design. You will help the team implement mission essential software projects in a collaborative, creative, and efficient manner.
nAs a User Experience Designer/Technical Writer, you will:
nnnCreate product personas through user research and data
n
nnDefine efficient UX interaction models and define their success
n
nnUtilize graphic design skills to create wireframes and prototypes
n
nnCommunicate design ideas via prototypes supported by objective analyses to facilitate decision-making
n
nnDevelop presentations and reports conveying complex information
n
nnConduct User Experience Testing and suggest recommendations to improve existing web and mobile applications and to create new ones
n
nnInnovate using UI/UX tools (Adobe XD or similar) as well as lean and agile methodologies and tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, HipChat)
n
nnInterface directly with our TEMT clients
n
nnProvide technical direction and quality reviews to team members in the creation of client deliverables
n
nnWork with Senior Leadership to drive account growth
n
nnCreate and edit technical documentation for requirements, user manuals and design documents.
n
n nRequired Qualifications
nnnMinimum of a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (Design, Computer Science, Communications, Business).
n
nn6+ years of professional experience
n
nn1+ years of experience in user experience design
n
nnExperience with task leadership and research
n
nnAbility to thrive in an ever changing, technology-based consulting environment
n
nnAbility to translate technical requirements into business solutions including experience analyzing current state quantitative and qualitative data, summarizing findings, developing conclusions, and making strategic recommendations
n
nnDemonstrated leadership experience and ability to adapt, with willingness to readily take ownership of tasks and problems, which often extend beyond initial scope of responsibility
n
nnExcellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
n
nnInitiative to actively seek new knowledge and improve skills
n
nnProficiency in the use of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to present a polished and professional image to clients
n
nnExperience leading client briefings and review sessions
n
nnConduct Technical writing reviews with stakeholders
n
nnProficiency with UX tools (e.g., Adobe Experience Design or Balsamiq Mockups)
n
n nDesired Qualifications
nDesired qualifications:
nnnKnowledge of HTML/CSS; JavaScript is a plus
n
nnAgile Certifications, PMI Certifications or Lean Six Sigma Black Belt
n
nnExperience working in a Telecommunications Environment is a plus
n
nnExperience designing executive dashboards is a plus
n
n nPreferred:
nnnHuman Computer Interaction (HCI) Certification
n
nnProficiency in all Adobe Suite Tools
n
nnAdvanced experience with technical editing and conducting research
n
nnAmericans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Standards for Accessible Design Certification

nCompensation at Noblis is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the combination of education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, internal and external equity, location, clearance level, as well as contract-specific affordability, organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. The projected compensation range for this position is based on full time status. For part time or on-call staff, compensation is proportionately adjusted based on hours worked. While monetary compensation is important, it's just one component of Noblis’ total compensation package.
