Job description
Unarmed Security Officer-1st ShiftSecurity Engineers is seeking dedicated Unarmed Patrol Security Officers to help maintain safe and secure environments for our clients. Officers play a vital role in deterring incidents through visibility, vigilance, and proactive engagement. Responsibilities include patrolling, monitoring access points, verifying identification, responding to alarms/emergencies, and maintaining detailed logs. This role requires professionalism, strong observational skills, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.Minimum Qualifications:Must have or be able to obtain a valid State Security LicenseValid driver's license and a Motor Vehicle Record that meets company approved driver standardsMust be at least 18 years oldMust have good customer service skillsMust have basic computer skillsDuties & Responsibilities:Patrol & Surveillance: Conduct walking and vehicle patrols to identify and report safety concerns; Monitor access points; verify IDs and credentials; Monitor surveillance systems for threats or suspicious activityIncident Response & Reporting: Respond to alarms, emergencies, and incidents per protocol; Maintain accurate logs of activities and incidents; Perform routine security tasks (e.g., locking/unlocking doors)Customer Service & Policy Enforcement: Assist visitors and employees professionally; Enforce site-specific Post Orders and security protocols; Ensure compliance with SEI and client policies (e.g., smoking, loitering, parking)Required Skills & Abilities:Minimum: Ability to perform in fast-paced, high-pressure environments; Weekend availability; Strong situational awareness and problem-solving skills; Ability to remain calm and effective in critical situations; Basic computer skills; ability to use tablets for reportingPreferred: Familiarity with Microsoft Office SuiteMinimum Physical Requirements With or Without reasonable accommodation (subject to change based on client-specific needs):Stand/sit for at least 1 hour without breakWalk a minimum of ½ mile without stoppingClimb at least 20 commercial facility stairs without stoppingEducation & Experience:Minimum: High School Diploma or equivalentPreferred: 1+ years verifiable Military, Law Enforcement or Security Experience; 2+ years of verifiable customer service experienceNote: Responsibilities and requirements listed are not exhaustive.
