Job description
We are currently recruiting for an Underwriter Professional Risks – Allied Health in Chicago, IL. This is a hybrid position requiring 2 days in office and 3 days remote and some travel. The ideal candidate will have 2-4+ years of experience underwriting Allied Healthcare and/or Professional Risks driving new business and underwriting complex renewal business within Allied Health. 105K-120K Base based on experience + bonus + full benefits package.
Responsibilities:
Underwrite, price and negotiate accounts consistent with the quality of the risk for professional risk – Allied Health
Develop new broker relationships and increase depth of existing broker relationships throughout region to increase production
Engage with the Allied Healthcare team to develop professionally
Play a key role in executing on regional plan
Serve as relationship manager for several key Allied Healthcare brokers and spearheading broker turnarounds
Obtain & maintain underwriting authority in Allied Healthcare practice area
Monitor product results and develop ideas to increase productivity and profitability
Regional travel required including industry events and broker visits
Requirements:
B.A./B.S degree is preferred
2-4+ years of experience in Allied Healthcare or Professional Liability coverage
Customer-centric mind-set and passionate about the power of superior customer service
Strong understanding of sales principles, presentation and negotiation skills
Proven track record of understanding and delivering meaningful underwriting profit
The ability to identify business needs
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently in a collaborative environment
Willingness to develop business, with travel throughout the U.S. up to 25%, required
No sponsorship. Local candidates only. Commutable to downtown Chicago area. Hybrid in-office 2 days. 105K-120K Base based on experience + bonus + full benefits package.
