Underwriting Support Assistant Level 1As part of Ascot's Operations Support Center ("ASC"), the Underwriting Support Assistant Level 1 will report to the Operations manager. Their primary responsibility is to support and manage workflows between multiple departments, by preparing renewals, managing correspondence filing, and handling other miscellaneous functions, as needed. The Underwriting Support Assistant will collaborate with underwriting and operations to support the business units in a consistent and timely manner. This role is based in the Ridgeland, MS office.To be considered for an open position, employees must:Have worked for Ascot for at least 12 months and or/in their current position for at least 12 months (any exceptions require HR approval)Have discussed the desire to apply for the position with their direct managerBe an employee in good standing and must not have been subject to disciplinary action in the last 12 monthsMeet the minimum job requirements to perform the essential functions of the positionResponsibilities:Master two core responsibilities to provide support for multi-lines products areas. This includes, but is not limited to:submission clearanceprocessing dead accountsquality checksrenewal preparationscorrespondence filingResponsible for data entry, analyzing, and validating data to ensure qualitySupport the Operations Technical Specialists and other colleagues as neededParticipate in special projects as requested, and perform additional assignments as instructed by the managerQualifications:1-3 years of related work experience, preferably in an office settingAssociate's degree preferred; High School Diploma requiredExperience in the insurance industry is preferredDemonstrated ability to work on a team, meet deadlines, and successfully perform in a changing, fast-paced work environmentExcellent customer service skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)Excellent written and verbal communication skillsSelf-starter and focused eye for detail and accuracyEffective time management and organizational skills
