JOB OVERVIEW:
An experienced Senior Software Engineer who builds and ships production-grade distributed systems. This is a hands-on delivery role. You will work within an established architecture, own your features end to end, and solve complex engineering problems as part of a strong team. Ideal for someone who wants to write code and deliver, not manage or set direction.
DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:
Engineering & Delivery
Design, build, test, and ship features and services within distributed systems built for scalability, resilience, and maintainability
Own assigned work from design through to production, including deployment, monitoring, and support
Debug and resolve complex technical issues across services and environments
Write clean, well-tested, well-documented code that follows the team's engineering standards
Collaboration & Technical Contribution
Contribute to design and architecture discussions with practical input on trade-offs and constraints
Take part in code reviews, both giving and receiving feedback
Work closely with product and engineering teams to break down requirements and deliver against the roadmap
Flag technical risks and suggest improvements to tooling, frameworks, or workflows where relevant
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Strong experience with modern cloud environments such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure
Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation
Proficiency in at least one backend or systems-focused language such as Go, Rust, Java, or Python
Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly through documentation and collaboration with teammates
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
7+ years of software engineering experience
Proven experience building and running large-scale distributed systems in production, including:
Microservices architectures
Event-driven systems
Cloud-native platforms
ADVANTAGEOUS SKILLS:
Experience working in high-availability or regulated environments (e.g., fintech, healthcare, IoT platforms)
Familiarity with observability frameworks, platform security design, and DevOps practices
Experience contributing to major platform upgrades, migrations, or modernization initiatives
Exposure to Python-based web frameworks, specifically Django
