We're committed to bringing passion and customer focus to the business.1st ShiftMonday - Friday05:00am – 01:30pmPOSITION SUMMARY:As a First Shift Liquid Take Out Chemical Production Operator, you play a critical part in the organization securing raw materials in a safe environment. This position packages chemical products of various kinds.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Package chemicals in pails, drums, and totesResponsible for connecting hoses and open valves to decanting chemicals into containers as specified in related proceduresCollect raw materials and lift hosesWatch gauges and meters to prevent spills or overfillsSecure lids, caps, and labels on filled containers correctlyPut on protective suits, gloves, and respiratorsClean small spills right away using proper safety kitsMaintain daily logs and record plant operating dataEffectively, timely, and respectfully communicate and interact with other employees, supervisors, individuals from other organizations, and customersEnsure supplies are distributed as required throughout the facilityNeatly store supplies and empty containersGeneral housekeeping of the plant and surrounding areasClean and store safety equipment for re-useReport process and/or safety equipment issues to Production SupervisorComply with all safety requirements within the companyComply with all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements and safe handling practices as required from Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and company proceduresFollow WHMIS, MSDS and all other safety training requirements and proceduresFollow all government and regulatory requirements when handling and transporting chemical materialsPerform other duties as assigned or neededRegular and sustained attendanceMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:1+ Years experience working in a chemical plant2 Years experience in a manufacturing and/or distribution facilityAbility to collaborate effectively and efficiently with colleaguesEffective communication skills and time managementAbility to stand and/or walk for extended periods of timePrevious experience in a chemical plant preferredExperience operating a sit-down (propane) forklift preferredEDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS:High School Diploma or GED equivalentOTHER INFORMATION:This position works in an enclosed building that is subject to variances in temperatures, extreme heat in summer, and colder temperatures in winter. This position frequently lifts, pushes, pulls or carries up to 50 pounds of product.
