We're committed to bringing passion and customer focus to the business.1st ShiftMonday - Friday05:00am – 01:30pmPOSITION SUMMARY:As a First Shift Union Production Operator Pre-Kitter, you play a critical part in the organization securing raw materials in a safe environment. This position creates and packages products of various kinds.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Prepare, measure, and kit raw materials for production batchesReceive, weigh, scan, and stage chemicals, ensuring accurate mixing ratios, increasing productivity, reducing waste, and minimizing chemical exposure for workersOrganizing ingredients into "kits" (kitting) for specific manufacturing steps to improve efficiency.Maintain daily logs and record plant operating dataFollowing strict safety procedures (including using respirators) and verifying material consistencyScanning batch tickets and recording data to ensure proper tracking and inventory managementEffectively, timely, and respectfully communicate and interact with other employees, supervisors, individuals from other organizations, and customersCollect raw materialsPackage chemicals in pails, drums, and totesResponsible for decanting chemical into containers as specified in related proceduresEnsure supplies are distributed as required throughout the facilityNeatly store supplies and empty containersGeneral housekeeping of the plant and surrounding areasClean and store safety equipment for re-useReport process and/or safety equipment issues to Production SupervisorComply with all safety requirements within the companyComply with all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements and safe handling practices as required from Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and company proceduresFollow WHMIS, MSDS and all other safety training requirements and proceduresFollow all government and regulatory requirements when handling and transporting chemical materialsOperate a sit-down forkliftSelect products for outbound ordersReceive product (bulk and packaged) for inbound ordersLoad and unload trucksPerform preventative maintenance and participate in general upkeep of production equipmentPerform other duties as assigned or neededRegular and sustained attendanceMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:1+ Years experience working in a chemical plant2 Years experience in a manufacturing and/or distribution facility2 Years experience operating a forklift preferredPass forklift driving exam (pre-offer)Ability to collaborate effectively and efficiently with colleaguesEffective communication skills and time managementAbility to stand and/or walk for extended periods of timePrevious experience in a chemical plant preferredEDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS:High School Diploma or GED equivalentOTHER INFORMATION:This position works in an enclosed building that is subject to variances in temperatures, extreme heat in summer, and colder temperatures in winter. This position frequently lifts, pushes, pulls or carries up to 50 pounds of product.
