Together, these facilities offer patients the best rehab and nursing care they can obtain.Unit Assistant is responsible for assisting with meal service, passing and collecting of trays and monitors day room while engaging with residents, assisting with activities when neededInforms the Nurse or CNA of any resident needs (i.e. the need to use the rest room) or of any changes noted in resident's conditionPerforms resident transport, distributes meal trays and sets up meal in front of the resident assigned by Charge Nurse /SupervisorTransport residents to designated dining area for meals and assist seating at appropriate table. Assist with handwashing, distribute beverages, transport residents to designated dining area for meals.Assist residents with obtaining meal or snack alternates, opening containers, etc.Assist with transport to/from programs back to units to assist activity staff withSupervise residents in patio area during nice weather and monitor assigned Community Room and assist residents as neededTidy up resident's rooms, linen closets, and make bedAdditional duties may be assigned by nursing administrationRequirementsSome High School RequiredExcellent written and verbal communication and organization skillsAbility to work well under pressure and be flexibleMust be a team player and willing to help where/when needed.Must have a sincere desire to work with the elderly, chronically ill, and disabled.Ability to build rapport with patients/residentsCompassionate and caring demeanorMust demonstrate excellent customer service skills and eagerness to helpHealthcare industry working experience preferred, not requiredPrevious experience with geriatric/short term rehabilitation/Alzheimer's patients is desirableCovid-19 vaccinations are encouraged but NOT MANDATED ; we continue to offer COVID-19 vaccination based on eligibility guidance from CDCWe are an Equal Opportunity Employer, celebrate diversity, & are committed to creating an inclusive work environment for all!
