CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.As our Unit Aide, you will provide essential non-clinical support and comfort to patients and staff, assisting other members of the healthcare team with providing basic patient care under the direction of a Staff Nurse. Every day you will support daily unit operations by assisting with patient comfort needs, transporting patients, performing light cleaning, stocking supplies, and relaying messages to nurses to ensure an organized environment. To be successful in this role, you will exhibit a helpful, compassionate demeanor, strong attention to detail, and a proactive approach to maintaining unit efficiency and team support within a dynamic healthcare setting.Performs basic patient care under the direction of the RN which includes assisting with patient ADL routine, measurement of intake and output and obtaining vital signsCompletes appropriate documentation which includes patient records ensuring it is completed according to hospital policyAssumes responsibility for professional growth by taking advantage of the available opportunitiesParticipates in peer review and staff development, which includes unit and quality process improvement activitiesActively advocates for patient rights and identifies potential conflict. Seeks counsel for resolution of conflictCommunicates as appropriate with other members of the healthcare teamRequired:Previous experience as a Unit Coordinator or six months of previous experience as a Monitor Tech or equivalent level of experience in an acute case facilityBasic Cardiac DysrhythmiaBasic Life Support - BLS through an American Heart Association providerPreferred:Two years of college and over two years experience as a Unit Coordinator II/Tech Monitor TechTwo years experience equivalent level in an acute care facilityMercy Medical Center Redding offers comprehensive health care to nearly 300,000 residents in a six-county region.
