Unit ManagerAn established, mission-driven healthcare organization in Connecticut is seeking a seasoned, clinically strong Unit Manager (RN) to oversee clinical and operational standards across two downstairs long-term care / skilled nursing units.Reporting directly to the Director of Nursing (DON), the Unit Manager carries 24/7 clinical and administrative accountability for their designated units. Working a primary schedule of Monday through Friday (7:00 AM – 3:00 PM), you will lead unit nursing staff, drive clinical quality standards, direct resident care planning, manage family/physician relations, and maintain strict state and federal regulatory compliance across your caseload.Key Responsibilities24/7 Unit Operational Command: Hold comprehensive clinical and administrative management responsibility for two downstairs resident care units.Clinical Quality & Survey Readiness: Lead daily unit operations to ensure continuous compliance with Connecticut Department of Public Health (DPH) regulations, CMS guidelines, and QAPI performance metrics.Interdisciplinary Care Planning: Oversee comprehensive resident care plans, attending physician rounds, MDS assessments, skin/wound management programs, and hospital readmission prevention strategies.Unit Staff Leadership & Supervision: Manage, evaluate, and mentor floor RNs, LPNs, and CNAs; collaborate closely with the Daytime RN Desk Nurse / Assistant Unit Manager to balance daily unit workflows.Physician & Family Relations: Serve as the primary point of escalation for attending physicians, specialty providers, residents, and family members regarding clinical care and treatment plans.Incident Management & Auditing: Conduct root-cause analyses for fall incidents, medication errors, or skin integrity changes; implement corrective action plans and required regulatory documentation.Qualifications & RequirementsLicensure: Current, active, and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Connecticut required.LTC Management Experience: Minimum of 3+ years of clinical nursing experience in a skilled nursing facility (SNF) or long-term care (LTC) setting, with at least 1 to 2 years in a formal leadership role (e.g., Unit Manager, Assistant DON, or Charge Nurse).Clinical Depth: Deep expertise in LTC clinical regulations, infection control, wound management, care planning processes, and DPH survey preparation.EMR Proficiency: Advanced proficiency with Electronic Medical Record systems (e.g., PointClickCare) for care management, auditing, and physician order oversight.Leadership & Communication: Exceptional leadership presence with proven ability to coach floor staff, communicate clearly with families, and collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams.Comprehensive Benefits PackageHealthcare & Wellness Insurance: Comprehensive Medical, Dental, and Vision coverage options with robust employee well-being and support resources.Retirement Plan with Match: Employer-sponsored 403(b) retirement plan offering Traditional and Roth options with a 100% match up to 2% of contributions (plus an additional 1% match potential based on eligibility).Paid Time Off (PTO): Generous accrued PTO program combining vacation, personal, and sick time, with accrual rates based on length of service.Connecticut Paid Sick Leave: Accrues at 1 hour per 30 hours worked (up to 40 hours annually).Paid Holidays: 6 paid company holidays per year.Tuition & Educational Support: Annual course and tuition reimbursement of up to $4,000 per year for eligible full-time employees.Note on Compensation: The posted range represents base rates for specialized nursing and supervisory positions.
