Provides administrative support on the patient-centered nursing unit. Assists with the admission process, verifying selected demographic information. Acts as a receptionist for visitors and serves as a central contact for telephone calls and distribution point for paperwork, laboratory and test resultsPerforms essential role with secretarial administrative functions.Contributes to ensuring effective and efficient communication with visitors, callers, physicians, staff from other departments and others as appropriateSupports effective and efficient patient care processes through timely, accurate transcription and entry of medical records/data.Answers and screens incoming phone calls to the department; responds to inquiries or refers to appropriate staff memberHandles delivery of mail daily to and from the department.Assists with overall unit staffing needs along with coordination of billing.Schedules clinical care as called into department by physicians or physicians' offices, per policy and procedure.Organizes and prepares the unit schedules for the following day and delivers to all appropriate departments daily.Orders supplies from materials management.High School diploma or equivalent required1 year of prior administrative/nursing experience preferredBLS requiredWhere a professional license or certification is required, the candidate must maintain the applicable license or certification throughout employment and comply with applicable renewal and reporting requirements.Humboldt Park Health may verify applicable professional licenses, certifications, education, employment history, and other credentials as permitted or required by applicable law and organizational policy.This position follows a full-time schedule with hours during the day shift. Flexibility may be required based on patient care and operational needs.Shift differentials may apply based on the current Humboldt Park Health policy at the time the hours are worked.Pay Range: $20 – $24 per hourThe pay range represents the budgeted compensation range for this position.
