Unit Tech/Monitor TechThe Unit Tech/Monitor Tech assumes responsibility for the organization and clerical activities for the nursing unit.Reports directly to Nurse Manager and/or Charge NurseWorks under the direction of the Nurse Manager or the Charge Nurse.Timely, efficient communication required, including good phone etiquette.Performs unit tasks in an effective and timely manner.Demonstrates accuracy and efficiency in computer and clerical skills.Gathers and distributes clinical data as assigned.Maintains nurses' station and patient nutrition in an orderly, neat manner.Documents legibly according to hospital policy.Utilizes equipment appropriately (printer, computer, telephone, fax machine, etc.)Assist with ordering and organization of suppliesIs knowledgeable of and actively participates in implementing the unit PI plan.Follows established hospital/department safety policies.The above statements are only meant to be a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by incumbents of this job. The incumbents may be requested to perform job-related tasks other than those stated in this description.High School Diploma/GED.Experience with computer and phone systems preferred.Work requires a variety of physical activities including sitting, standing and walking.
