Job description
Branch Banking SpecialistThe Branch Banking Specialist provides exceptional customer service while supporting the daily operations of the branch. This position performs a combination of teller transactions and new account responsibilities, assisting customers with their everyday banking needs while identifying opportunities to strengthen customer relationships. Primary duties will be opening personal and commercial accounts, including CDs and IRAs. In addition, this position is responsible for maintaining accuracy when handling cash, processing deposits, cashing checks, withdrawals, processing cash advances on credit cards, issuing cashiers' checks, issuing money orders, and ensuring all activities are completed in accordance with bank policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.Skills and Characteristics for Applicants:Strong customer service and interpersonal skillsProfessional and positive attitudeStrong verbal and written communication skillsAttention to detail and commitment to accuracyAbility to handle cash and financial transactions responsiblyAbility to learn and explain banking products and servicesStrong knowledge of banking products and regulationsStrong organizational and time-management skillsStrong teamwork and collaboration skillsSound judgment and problem-solving abilitiesEducational Requirements:High school diploma or equivalent required.Previous customer service, cash-handling, retail, or banking experience preferred.Physical & Work Requirements:Ability to work in a professional branch environment and interact with customers throughout the workday.Ability to remain standing or seated for extended periods depending on assigned responsibilities.Ability to perform routine computer and cash-handling functions.Ability to work scheduled branch hours and provide coverage as business needs require.Texas Gulf Bank is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
