Upholstery Production OperatorAvalon and Tahoe - Alma, MI 48901OverviewSalary Range $16.50 Hourly Level Entry Position Type Full Time Job Shift Day Education Level High School Travel Percentage None Category ManufacturingDescriptionJob Summary: The upholstery laborer fabricates various furniture pieces by pulling vinyl upholstery pieces over pre-assembled wood and foam furniture cores. The completed furniture is then placed in a staging area to be taken to the assembly line. The upholsterers support the furniture fabricators and the assembly line.QualificationsJob Requirements:High school diploma or GEDAttention to detailExcellent problem solving skillsGood verbal and written communication skillsNeeds good visual judgment to notice errors and/or defectsAbility to accurately read a tape measureAbility to follow verbal and written instructionsAbility to work in a fast paced, multifunctional team oriented work environmentAbility to work variable hours with short notice (up to 50+ hrs. per week)Physical Requirements and Environment:Must be physically capable of safely lifting a minimum of 50 lbs. without assistanceInvolves standing, bending, and lifting for long periods as requiredRequires repetitive movement and extensive use of handsIncludes exposure to noise levels that are distracting and/or uncomfortableRequires wearing personal protective equipment
