Upper Elementary Lead Teacher in Honolulu, HI, US
Montessori Community School (MCS) is seeking a passionate and experienced Upper Elementary Lead Guide to join our well‑established Montessori program in the heart of Honolulu. This is a unique opportunity to live and work in a vibrant island community, while being part of a deeply rooted school with a 50+ year history.
Responsibilities include:
Deliver Montessori lessons to upper elementary students
Collaborating daily with a co‑lead guide and support staff
Conferencing regularly with parents
Contributing to a positive, communicative team culture

Preferred candidates:
Hold Montessori credentials (a MACTE accredited program/AMS or AMI) and ideally have classroom experience
Are innovative, effective communicators, and strong listeners
Are open to relocating to Honolulu and committing to supporting the school through a 3‑year cycle, assuming mutual fit
Montessori Community School (MCS) is a private, non‑profit Montessori school serving fewer than 200 students, ages 2–12. We are accredited by the Hawai’i Association of Independent schools (HAIS) and the American Montessori Society (AMS). We are committed to adhering to Montessori principles while supporting the needs of our students in the Hawai’i community.
Salary range: commensurate with experience
