Job description
Urgent Care Medical AssistantThe Urgent Care Medical Assistant assists in the management of patient care and coordinates patient flow to ensure care is delivered safely effectively and efficiently, while providing direct and indirect assistance to the patient and physician, and serving as a liaison between the facility, physician, insurance company and other healthcare agencies.Required Qualifications:Require current/active Certified Medical Assistant or Registered Medical Assistant credential.Preferred Qualifications:Prefer a minimum of one (1) year clinical experience in an Urgent care Center or Ambulatory/Outpatient setting.Prefer demonstrated computer literacy with windows-based programs.Prefer demonstrated effective communication skills and the ability to handle difficult customers or situations.Prefer demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology.Prefer previous college or vocational training.Prefer the ability multi-task, prioritize duties and demonstrate initiative and self-direction.Mandatory Education: High School Diploma, GED or CertificateRequired License and Certs:BLS: Basic Life Support/CPRPreferred License and Certs:Our urgent care centers are open 7 days a week, 8am-8pm. Evenings, weekends and holidays are required. Additionally, shifts can vary from 8 hour shifts to 10 and 12 hour shifts. Flexibility to work at all 7 of our urgent care locations is also required, however schedule location preferences will be taken into consideration.Employment Screening Requirements:As part of Sarasota Memorial Health Care System's commitment to keeping people safe, all individuals providing care to vulnerable populations are required to undergo background screening through The Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse.
