Job description
Bluffton, South Carolina
Lowcountry Vets at May River is seeking experienced Veterinarians — both part-time and full-time — to join our team as we expand into urgent care hours. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape a growing urgent care offering from the ground up, while practicing in one of the most scenic corners of South Carolina's Lowcountry.
We're looking for experienced doctors who are excited about building something new: expanding our May River location's hours to better serve pets and families who need care outside the standard appointment window. You'll have real input into how our urgent care hours take shape, working alongside a warm, experienced, and highly regarded local team.
Why Bluffton, South Carolina?
A setting that feels like a postcard.
Our May River location sits along the scenic May River itself, in the heart of a town locals describe as "a state of mind" — a place where sunlight, moss-draped oak trees, and slow Southern afternoons set the tone for everyday life.
Old Town Bluffton's timeless charm.
Just minutes away, Old Town Bluffton offers historic homes, art galleries, and boutique shops along streets shaded by centuries-old oaks, plus the Heyward House Museum and Welcome Center, built in 1841, for a look into the town's rich history.
Fresh-caught Lowcountry flavor.
Bluffton takes its seafood seriously — much of it comes straight from the Bluffton Oyster Company, a local institution for anyone who wants their seafood as fresh as it gets.
World-class golf and outdoor recreation.
From the May River Golf Club at Palmetto Bluff to numerous other championship courses, golf lovers are spoiled for choice, while the river and surrounding marshlands offer kayaking, fishing, and paddling right outside your door.
Palmetto Bluff's natural beauty.
This stunning nearby community offers scenic nature trails, a renowned conservancy, and some of the most photographed live oak canopies in the Lowcountry.
Shopping and everyday convenience.
Tanger Outlets Hilton Head is just a short drive away, offering deals from Nike, Coach, Polo Ralph Lauren, and more, alongside everyday shopping and dining throughout the Bluffton and Sun City areas.
Beaches and island life close by.
Hilton Head Island is just 10 minutes away, putting pristine beaches, resort dining, and island recreation within easy reach whenever you want a coastal escape.
A charming small-town community feel.
With farmers markets, sculpture gardens, seasonal festivals, and a genuinely tight-knit community, Bluffton offers small-town warmth without sacrificing access to bigger-city amenities in nearby Savannah, Georgia, just a short drive away.
What We Offer
Competitive salary, with flexibility for part-time or full-time schedules
Opportunity to help shape and grow our urgent care program from the ground up
Health, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) (full-time)
Continuing education allowance and license/DEA reimbursement
Paid time off
A genuinely supportive, well-established team culture
