Job description

Dartmouth Health (DH) is seeking a BC/BE Urologist to assume the leadership of the urologic portion of our URPS program and fellowship. The position will be based at both Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center (DHMC), our academic medical center in Lebanon, NH, and Valley Regional Hospital (VRH), a critical access hospital in Claremont, NH, located in the scenic, rural Upper Valley of New Hampshire. The successful candidate will join the Dartmouth Health system URPS program with a view to assuming directorship of the urological portion of that program as our current director moves to retirement. He or she will also lead our efforts to extend and build our URPS program in NH and VT, and at Valley Regional Hospital.

The ideal candidate will have a strong clinical background, a passion for rural health care, and an affinity for collaboration with primary care providers, referring urologists, and OBGYNs. We are currently recruiting two faculty who will be based at both Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH and Valley Regional Hospital in Claremont, NH, one with an interest in general urology and the other with specialization in Urological Reconstruction and Pelvic Surgery. We are particularly interested in developing a robotic surgery program at Valley Regional Hospital.

Dartmouth Hitchcock has a strong commitment to medical education, and the successful candidate will be expected to be actively involved in medical student and resident education, and research. Excellence in communication and a track record of impeccable professionalism are of paramount importance.

Academic appointments commensurate with experience will be awarded by the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth. Engagement in academic and didactic opportunities at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center is strongly encouraged.
