Job description
Faculty position employed by the University of Texas at Tyler School of Medicine, practicing in UT Health East Texas facilities. UT Tyler School of Medicine is seeking a skilled Urology Physician with robotics experience to join our team in Athens, Texas. This full‑time position provides a balance of outpatient and inpatient care, offering the opportunity to practice advanced robotic‑assisted urologic procedures while managing a diverse patient population. The ideal candidate will be committed to high‑quality, patient‑centered care and have experience with robotic surgery.
Requirements
Board‑certified/board‑eligible in Urology.
Robotics experience required (Da Vinci Robotic platform preferred).
Position Overview
Patient load: 20–25 patients per day (outpatient & inpatient combined).
Surgical volume: 1–5 surgical patients per week (robotic and non‑robotic cases).
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM.
Call schedule: 10 days per month and 1 weekend.
Smart Technology: Our providers use Epic EMR and Ambience AI scribe technology to automate documentation, reduce administrative burden, improve patient flow, and ensure accurate coding leading to better work‑life balance and revenue.
