Job description
Responsibilities:
Interprets laboratory and diagnostic tests;
Answers consults from the ED and other wards for Urology and Orthopedics;
Evaluates and provides appropriate intervention (in conjunction with supervising surgeon) for ER and nursing home patients;
Implements therapeutic intervention for specific conditions when appropriate;
Formulates and implements discharge planning and clinical follow-up in conjunction with surgeon;
Dictates discharge summaries;
Performs first assistant duties in all surgical procedures.
Requirements:
Bachelor s Degree required;
Current BLS certification required;
Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Program, required;
Current Board Certification from the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA), required;
D.E.A. Certificate, required;
Licensed Physician Assistant by the New York State Department of Education, required;
Infection Control Certificate, required
