The Salisbury VA Health Care System is seeking an experienced board-certified Urologist to provide exemplary care to our veterans. Duties can include but are not limited to performing:

This position reports directly to the ACOS of surgery and is responsible for providing the most effective delivery of clinical/surgical care throughout the medical center while meeting and exceeding compliance standards.

Provides guidance to interns, residents/fellows, medical students, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners and are eligible for clinical appointment at Wake Forest University.

Delivers patient care that is compassionate, appropriate, and effective for the promotion of health, prevention of illness, treatment of disease, and care at the end of life. Comfortable providing training and/or direction to support staff assigned to the unit during the performance of duties.

As a chief, you will be in the clinic or Operating room 5 days per week and have 20% admin time.

This position is supervisory, and you will have an average of 8 direct reports and 2 residents.

Requirements

U.S. Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is impossible to recruit qualified citizens, in accordance with VA Policy.

Education: A Doctor of Medicine degree or an equivalent degree in allopathic or osteopathic medicine is required.

Licensure: Candidates must possess a current, complete, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a state, territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.

Residency: Completion of a residency program in an accredited core specialty.

Board Certification: Candidates must be board-certified or board-eligible in Urology. Must be eligible for academic appointment.

Experience: Five + years

Academic Affiliation: Atrium Wake Forest

Competitive Salary Range : $380,000-$400,000.
