User Experience Internship

nSummer 2027- May 17th through August 13th

nLocation: Fort Wayne, IN

nLevel: Intern

nDivision / Department: Information Technology

nReporting to position: Sr User Experience Designer

nAbout the Role:

nWe're seeking a motivated and curious User Experience Intern to support our user experience team in improving digital tools and onboarding experiences for our members. This internship is ideal for someone passionate about design thinking, user-centered design, and improving how users interact with complex systems.

nYou’ll work on meaningful projects including journey mapping, interface design, and information architecture audits—contributing directly to the improvement of tools used by thousands of member stores.

nThis is a temporary position beginning in May 2027 and ending in August 2027. This internship is paid on an hourly basis.

nNo relocation is offered, candidates must be local to the Fort Wayne, Indiana area for the Summer 2027 timeframe.

nThe Intern may also be able to use this opportunity towards university/college credit.

nResponsibilities include:

nnnShadowing and supporting UX research activities (e.g., usability testing, stakeholder interviews, heuristic evaluations)

n

nnAssisting with design creation and interface refinements in Figma (e.g., wireframes and high-fidelity prototypes)

n

nnOrganizing and updating journey maps and other design artifacts in Miro

n

nnAnalyzing system navigation and structure to recommend improvements of information architecture

n

nnPreparing documentation and presentations to share findings with the UX and development teams

n

n nEducation and Experience:

nnCurrently pursuing a degree in UX Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Interaction Design, Graphic Design, Anthropology, or a related field

n nSkills and Abilities:

nnnExperience with design and collaboration tools such as Figma, Miro, or similar (coursework or project-based)

n

nnFamiliarity with UX research methods and usability principles

n

nnStrong analytical and visual communication skills

n

nnDetail-oriented, organized, and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment

n
