Utility Field Service RepresentativeUnder general supervision of the Field Service Supervisor, performs field work dealing with reading meters and continuing or discontinuing water service. The Utility Field Service Representative is responsible for performing the connection and disconnection of water services, investigation of customer complaints, collecting meter readings and data, and processing delinquent accounts.Knowledge of water meter reading and water supply equipment.Knowledge of the geographical and street locations in the central Brevard County area.Skill in the use of a variety of computer programs, including Microsoft Office, and various office equipment.Ability to explain water utility procedure to customers.Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with city officials and employees, the general public, and representatives of other agencies toward the accomplishment of assigned projects.Ability to gain the trust and cooperation of others to effectively communicate concepts and ideas.Ability to work effectively with a variety of staff, other governmental representatives, and the public.Ability to deal tactfully and courteously with the public and maintain composure in difficult and/or stressful situations.High school diploma or GED certificate with (1) one year of experience in water service and customer relations; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. For positions requiring the operation of City vehicles, must possess a valid current Florida driver's license, or be able to acquire one within 45 days of hire.The work is generally medium and may require exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
