Utility Locator TechnicianWe're currently hiring for Utility Locator Technicians in Lafayette, LA. Experienced Locators are preferred, but we are also accepting inexperienced applicants and will provide paid training!All of our field technicians are provided with:Safety gear including company boot (allowance), vests, glasses, etc.Military-grade computer deviceCompany issued truckCompany fuel card (yes, we pay your gas!)Comprehensive Benefits including Medical, Dental and Vision insurance, 401K, Life insurance and short term Disability (FULL paid health insurance for employee only coverage!)Responsibilities:Line locators will work under the direction of their company supervisor, performing work that involves visual inspection of predefined construction areas and reading and interpretation of utility maps to determine the presence of underground utilities, while using special electronic equipment to locate and protect the utility from being damaged. Some of these utilities include gas, electric, water, cable, sewer and more.Requirements:High school diploma or GEDValid driver's licenseUpon employment, subject to random drug testing in compliance with DOT guidelinesWorking Conditions and Hours:Hours are 7:00am - 4:30pmOutdoor work environment: up to 10-12 miles of walking on different terrainsDriving company vehicle to and from work sitesKnowledge and Abilities:Successfully complete the company's training program and pass applicable written and field testsDevelop a general knowledge of state and local damage prevention regulationsLearn and apply safety measure relating to motor vehicle operation and other field related mattersOlameter is one of the largest meter servicing companies in North America providing services to over 300 different utility companies.Olameter is an equal opportunity employer that is committed to diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
