Utility Metal FinisherMicrowave Techniques is seeking a Utility Metal Finisher to join our team here in Gorham. This position works with a variety of tools and techniques to play a critical role in the machining and manufacture of precision high-end products.Microwave Techniques, located in Gorham, Maine, is a global leader in the design, development, and manufacture of advanced RF and microwave solutions. For more than 40 years, we have delivered innovative technologies that support customers across a broad range of industrial, scientific, medical, defense, semiconductor, aerospace, food processing, plasma, materials processing, communications, and research applications.Our Gorham operations design and manufacture a wide portfolio of products, including:RF and microwave circulators, isolators, and ferrite componentsWaveguide and coaxial passive componentsCustom RF and microwave engineering solutionsMicrowave Techniques LLC, is a subsidiary of The Elmet Group (ELMT), a publicly traded company.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesDeburring, sanding, and blending - polishing parts using hand tools, air and power tools.Lapping flange faces flatTumble partsSandblasting using a cabinet sandblasterUse tank farm in cleaning parts for secondary operation and prior to assembly and paintApply surface finishes to aluminum, brass, copper and stainless steelClean and wash partsSome light assemblyMaintain tools used and work area is in a clean and orderly condition.Able to manage multiple projects and activities concurrently to achieve desired outcomes.Has high attention to detailWork ExpectationsResponsible for contributing to a safe work environment by operating machinery in its intended manner, notifying proper individuals of an unsafe machine or work areaSupports multiple areas of production in a fast-paced environmentAccepting ownership and accountability for one's position responsibilities and as an employee of Microwave TechniquesCommunicate effectively with coworkers and leadershipPhysical Requirements:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.Ability to sit, stand and walk for long periods of time.Performs activities requiring sustained concentration, and visual acuity.The shift in Gorham, Maine is Monday through Friday 6am – 2:30pm.Consistent with the provisions of the Americans with Disability Act (ADA) and the Maine Human Rights Act, applicants may request accommodations needed to participate in the application process.Equal Opportunity Employer.
