Utility OperatorThe City of Pewaukee is seeking a Utility Operator to join our exceptional Water & Sewer Utility team. Pay is commensurate with experience, as outlined below.Position OverviewUtility Operators are responsible for the repair and maintenance of municipal water and sanitary sewer facilities. Key responsibilities include:Operate SCADA systems and inspect pump stations dailyMaintain and repair water/sewer infrastructure, including hydrants, valves, pumps, and pipingPerform water sampling, testing, and meter readingAssist with DNR regulatory reporting and complianceLocate underground utilities and inspect new connectionsHandle water treatment chemicals and supervise flushing programsPerform Cross Connection Control inspectionsRespond to customer water and sewer complaintsCareer Levels and CompensationOPERATOR I (Entry Level)0-2 years of experienceWisconsin Waterworks Operator Class G and D certificationsHourly pay range: $27.10 - $30.97 – pay is commensurate with experienceOPERATOR II3-4 years of experienceWisconsin Waterworks Operator Class G and D certificationsBasic General Wastewater with Collections Systems subclass certificationsHourly pay range: $29.35 - $33.54 – pay is commensurate with experienceOPERATOR III5+ years of experienceAll Operator II certifications plus Iron Removal and VOCHourly pay range: $31.61 - $36.12 – pay is commensurate with experienceHours of work are 6:30 am to 3 pm Monday through Friday. All operators are in the on-call rotation and must reside within 40 minutes of city hall.
