2nd Shift Utility Heavy Equipment OperatorRogers Group, Inc., headquartered in Nashville, is a privately held aggregates and asphalt highway construction company operating and meeting customer needs in 13 states with over 3,500 employees. RGI, established in 1908, has the distinction of being recognized as the largest privately held aggregate producer in the United States.Rogers Group is currently seeking a 2nd Shift Utility Heavy Equipment Operator for our Red Bay Quarry in Red Bay, AL, part of the Alabama SMA, reporting to the Plant Manager. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to lead safety, quality, and revenue generation throughout our existing operations and additional operations through growth.Job Details:Wages dependent on verifiable experience2nd Shift (3:00PM-12:00AM)$3.00 night shift differentialFulltime/PermanentWeekend work may be requiredOvertime available along with medical and retirement benefitsJob Responsibilities:Operate a variety of heavy equipment (Skid Steer, Wheel Loader, Dozer and/or Excavator) and machinery.1 – 2yrs Experience as a Wheel Loader Operator highly preferredPerform daily pre and post inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with company policiesPerform servicing and maintenance of equipment as trained and directed by managementOperate equipment with a high degree of competency, skill, and proficiencyPerform plant ground operations/maintenance as neededProperly follow all company policies and OSHA / MSHA / environmental regulations for safe working procedures and environmentOther duties as assigned by managementQualifications:Uncompromising focus on safety excellence1+ years of experience operating wheel loader is preferredPrevious quarry experience is preferredAbility to perform safety and maintenance inspections throughout the dayCapable of demonstrating equipment and troubleshooting knowledgeExperience working with crushers, conveyors and screens is preferredAbility to understand basic safety and work instructionMust be able to work flexible hours and overtime as neededExcellent verbal and written communications skills requiredGood organizational, scheduling and time management skillsWelding experience is helpful along with general maintenance and repair abilitiesExperience in heavy equipment operation a plus but not requiredTeam player mentalityWorking outdoors in varied weather conditions with the probability of dust, noise, heat, and coldRogers Group provides extensive benefits, strong compensation, and a safe, drug-free working environment.As a Rogers Group employee, you will have access to our competitive company perks, including:Group insurance options plus Health Savings Account with annual company contribution.Company paid life insurance, disability insurance, and more.Retirement 401K account with company contribution and match.Paid HolidaysPaid vacation days earned after completion of 180-day probationary period.Annual performance-based merit increases.Career growth and advancement opportunities.It is the policy of Rogers Group, Inc. to recruit, hire, and promote individuals based on demonstrated merit and qualifications.
