Utility Plant ElectricianUtility and Energy Services at CU Boulder encourages applications for a Utility Plant Electrician! The primary focus is the installation, maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical equipment, controls, metering, and related systems. Work is performed with a strong emphasis on safety, code compliance, and minimizing downtime. The position also supports the campus wide utility metering system, I&C, and Medium Voltage tasks.Candidates should have general knowledge of power distribution equipment, motors, Variable Speed/Frequency Drives (VSD, VFD), electrical metering, totalizers, and pneumatic devices, and a working knowledge of electrical diagrams and circuits, and familiarity with NEC.CU is an Equal Opportunity Employer and complies with all applicable federal, state, and local laws governing nondiscrimination in employment. We provide the campus community with reliable utility services in an efficient and environmentally responsible manner and offer measurement, line locating, performance engineering, regulatory, and data management services.The salary for this role is $85,000 – $92,000 annually. Be Boulder.2 years of experience of electrical maintenance in a plant/industrial environment.5 years of general electrical experience or a combination of relevant education or relevant experience equal to 5 years.Ability to run RMC and EMT raceways with minimal supervision.Willingness to work on and around voltages ranging from 24V-15KV.Must be willing to respond to plant and campus emergencies/outages.Must have a valid driver's license.Ability to work successfully independently and as part of a team.Ability to read and interpret complex electrical schematics and blueprints related to power distribution systems, plant control systems and supporting infrastructure.Strong knowledge of electrical theory.Proficient in using basic hand and power tools.Communicate effectively and build relationships.Proven problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.To apply, please submit the following materials: A current resume.
