Utility Service WorkerPlacer County's Department of Public Works is currently accepting applications for Utility Service Worker to fill four permanent/full-time vacancies. This position is responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing, and replacing wastewater collection and water distribution systems. The ideal candidate will have previous experience performing maintenance on a variety of water and wastewater equipment and will be able to work both in a team environment and independently in the field.The eligible lists established as a result of this recruitment may be used to fill future vacancies as they arise, subject to position-specific requirements.This position will remain open until filled with an initial application screening deadline of 5:00 PM, on December 9, 2025 for immediate consideration. Applications received after this date will be screened on a bi-weekly basis until the positions are filled.It is the responsibility of applicants to identify in their application materials how they meet the minimum qualifications listed below.Experience and Training Any combination of experience and training that would provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required knowledge and abilities would be:Experience: Two (2) years of experience performing duties similar to a Maintenance Worker assigned to Utility Services with Placer County.Training: Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade.Required License or Certificate:May need to possess a valid driver's license as required by the position. Proof of adequate vehicle insurance and medical clearance may also be required.Possession of a valid Class A driver's license with air brake and tanker endorsements within twelve (12) months of employment, when assigned to Public Works.Possession of certificate of training in use of self-contained breathing apparatus within three (3) months of employment.Possession of Certificate in Wastewater Collection System Maintenance, Grade I, as issued by the California Water Environment Association within twelve (12) months of employment.
