The work is performed under direct supervision and requires exercising independence, judgment and initiative. The nature of the work performed requires that an employee in this class establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.Essential Functions:Performs general clean-up of grounds and facilitiesCleans and paints station and treatment plant equipment and appurtenancesInvestigate customer complaintsInspects services and facilities as a result of all types of complaints or investigation work ordersFlushes and services mains collection lines and manholesCollect wastewater samplesReads runtime, event and electric metersAssists with repairing of sewer mains, laterals and manholesOperates system valves as requiredCompletes necessary paperworkAssists with repairs at the treatment plant as well as the pump stationsAssist customers with location of sewer tie-inAssists above and below ground construction as requiredMaintains monthly vehicle reportsPerforms work onsite at assigned locationParticipates in and supports the Company's Continuous Improvement program and projectsAble to work after hours for emergency repairsAble to work on weekendsAble to go on shift workFamiliar with hand toolsAble to work in confined spacesAble to lift heavy itemsAble to work in harsh and obnoxious situations or environmentsMinimum Qualifications:High School Diploma or possession of a GEDValid Driver's LicenseRequired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Knowledge of operation, maintenance and repair of pumps, pump controls and related equipmentKnowledge of current principles and practices involved in water and wastewater systemsKnowledge of safety regulations, protocols, principles, practices and procedures for water and wastewater systems, and work site safetyKnowledge of plumbing and pipe fitting repair and installationAbility to communicate well with others, both orally and in writingAbility to understand and follow oral and/or written policies, procedures and instructionsAbility to use logical and creative thought processes to develop solutions according to written specification and/or oral instructionsAbility to perform a wide variety of duties and responsibilities with accuracy and speed under the pressure of time sensitive deadlinesAbility to regularly interact with employees, public, and customers requiring common sense, tact and diplomacy to accomplish assignmentsSalary Range: $21.97 - $36.83 (DOE)Deadline to submit resume is: OPEN UNTIL FILLEDThe Equal Opportunity Policy of the Company is based upon the philosophy that all people should be treated fairly and with dignity.
