Job description

Truliant's mission is to improve lives by putting our members first, providing great service and straightforward financial solutions. Our core values of Member Focus, Service, Guidance, Relationships, and Community define how we interact with members to fulfill our mission of improving lives and providing a foundation on which we conduct ourselves.

Our Promise to Our Teammates: Truliant strives to provide all teammates with an enjoyable place to work where they feel valued, empowered and rewarded for all that they do.

This position is primarily remote within our NC, SC, VA footprint. Although this position is primarily remote, there are monthly events and meetings that may require you to workon-site at one of our Truliant locations.

Why this role matters

Every digital interaction is an opportunity to make managing money feel simpler, more intuitive, and more accessible for Truliant members. As a UX Specialist, you'll help shape seamless experiences across online and mobile banking, payments, digital account opening, and other key platforms by turning member feedback and research into meaningful improvements.

If you enjoy asking thoughtful questions, uncovering what creates friction, and helping teams design with real people in mind, this role offers the chance to make a visible impact on the member experience.

What you'll do

In this role, you'll champion the voice of the member throughout the digital product lifecycle. You'll lead research and usability efforts, translate qualitative and quantitative findings into clear recommendations, and partner with product managers, business teams, and vendors to improve how members experience Truliant's digital services.

Day to day, you'll:

Plan and conduct usability testing, research, and reviews to identify friction and opportunities across digital banking experiences.

Turn member feedback, usage patterns, and test results into practical recommendations, user journeys, and compelling stakeholder presentations.

Validate new features, enhancements, and issue resolutions while supporting accessible, consistent, and member-centered experiences.

Beyond that, you'll collaborate across teams and with third-party vendors, help evaluate member-impacting issues, and bring forward current UX practices and emerging digital banking ideas that strengthen engagement and satisfaction.

What you bring

We're looking for a thoughtful, analytical UX professional who can balance member needs, business goals, and technical realities. You'll be successful here if you can make research actionable, communicate clearly with different audiences, and stay organized while several priorities are moving at once.

Required Experience:

3+ years of experience in UX design, usability testing, or UX research, preferably supporting financial services or digital products.

Required Skills:

Ability to plan and conduct usability research, analyze qualitative and quantitative data, and translate findings into practical design or product improvements.

Working knowledge of UX/UI principles, journey mapping, human-centered design, accessibility considerations, and the security and compliance factors that affect digital experiences.

Ability to document and present research, data, user journeys, and recommendations clearly to cross-functional partners and external vendors.

Ability to understand business processes and the technologies supporting them, manage multiple priorities, and work effectively in Microsoft Visio, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel.

Education/Certifications:

Bachelor's degree in Human-Computer Interaction, User Experience, Psychology, Information Design, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

You should also be comfortable advocating for member needs in project conversations, testing and refining ideas based on evidence, and staying current with UX trends, digital banking practices, and emerging financial technologies.

What sets you apart

You don't need to check every box, but here's what will help you thrive in this role:

1+ years of experience in financial services, banking, or credit unions.

Familiarity with digital banking platforms, fintech solutions, or member-facing financial technology.

Experience partnering with third-party vendors or supporting digital pilots, product launches, and post-launch improvements.

What you'll get

We believe in supporting our team members both professionally and personally.

In this role, you can expect:

Purpose-driven work that directly improves how Truliant members access and use important financial services.

A collaborative environment where your research and recommendations can influence product decisions from discovery through validation.

Opportunities to deepen your expertise across UX research, accessibility, digital banking, and emerging financial technology.

A member-focused culture that values thoughtful service, continuous improvement, and practical ideas that make digital experiences better.
