Job description

Valve Assembly and Testing PositionThis is a temporary position with potential for full-time. The successful candidate will be referred to Remedy Staffing Services.SummaryThis position is responsible for the assembly and testing of valves.Essential FunctionsA representative summary of tasks to be performed is provided below. The employee may be asked to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically stated in this description. The duties and responsibilities of the position are to be carried out in a manner that is consistent with the mission, values and operating principles of Flow Safe Inc.Assemble Flow Safe valves per procedure.Set up specialized test equipment to diagnose, test and validate the performance of high-pressure valve products and other pressure components.Conduct end-of-line functional testing on valve components and record results.Compare test results to specifications and set valve products to order requirements.Assist with testing equipment maintenance and/or repair. Perform maintenance on shop equipment.Maintain test results and records.Carry out valve or valve subcomponent testing in support of engineering team.Assist in building and testing valve prototypes to specifications.Perform "VR" repairs to Flow Safe valves in accordance with applicable procedures.Production-test final assemblies to ensure compliance with customer and Flow Safe requirements; documents all test results.Evaluate and troubleshoot valve failuresPerform peer inspection of final assemblies before delivery to Quality or Shipping.QualificationsEducation and Work Experience:High school diploma or equivalent work experience2-3 years experience in a manufacturing / testing environmentOther Qualifications:Post-secondary course in pressure testing techniques and testing equipment an assetAbility to read, and interpret drawing specifications and blueprints required.Basic computer skills for data entry and retrieval.Safety and quality training a plusKnowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs):Attention to details and ability to understand and follow procedures.Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and computers.Problem solving – Ability to identify problems and the solutions to them.Organizational Expectations:Safety - Shows concern for safety, identifying hazardous or potentially hazardous situations and taking appropriate action to maintain a safe environment for self and others.Quality – Follows up to ensure high quality output, takes action to solve quality problems or communicate quality issues to management.Teamwork - Works collaboratively with others to achieve organizational goals and treats others with respect and dignity.Accountability – Willingly accepts personal responsibility for decisions, actions, attitudes and behaviors that contribute to the overall effectiveness of the organization. Communicates effectively, follows through on assignments, uses resources efficiently and participates in learning opportunities.ADA RequirementsFrequently:Use hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls.Repeat the same motions.Bend or twist the body when operating equipment.Sit for long periods of time.Able to communicate verbally.Moderate to occasional:Lifting (1-50 pounds), walking.
