Position Overview

Central Maine Healthcareis seeking a Board-Certified / Board-Eligible Vascular Surgeon to join our growing surgical program atCentral Maine Medical Centerlocated inLewiston.

This position offers an opportunity to join an expanding surgical service line within a regional health system that serves communities throughout central Maine. The incoming surgeon will provide comprehensive vascular care, including both open and endovascular procedures, and collaborate with cardiology, interventional radiology, nephrology, and critical care teams.

Position Highlights

Full-time vascular surgery position within a regional referral center

Established surgical and cardiovascular programs

Dedicated operating room access and endovascular capabilities

Collaborative multidisciplinary care environment

Balanced inpatient and outpatient practice

Procedures May Include

Endovascular aneurysm repair (EVAR / TEVAR)

Peripheral vascular interventions

Carotid endarterectomy and carotid stenting

Lower extremity bypass surgery

Dialysis access creation and maintenance

Management of peripheral arterial disease and critical limb ischemia

Venous disease management and thrombectomy procedures

About Us

Central Maine Healthcare (CMH), a member of Prime Healthcare Foundation, is an integrated healthcare delivery system serving approximately 400,000 residents across central, western, and midcoast Maine through a network of more than 40 primary and specialty care locations. The system includes Central Maine Medical Center (CMMC) in Lewiston, a 250-bed, not-for-profit regional referral hospital that is home to the region's only Cancer Care Center, an orthopedic ambulatory surgery center, and the Central Maine Heart and Vascular Institute. CMMC also serves as the central Maine base for LifeFlight of Maine, the state's only medical helicopter service.

CMH also includes Bridgton Hospital and Rumford Hospital, two 25-bed critical access hospitals that provide essential care to Maine's rural communities.

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive vascular surgical care including diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up of vascular disease

Perform open and endovascular procedures in a hospital-based surgical setting

Evaluate and manage inpatient vascular consultations

Participate in call coverage and vascular service line development

Collaborate with cardiology, nephrology, wound care, and critical care services

Maintain accurate documentation within the electronic medical record

Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives

Qualifications

MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school

Completion of accredited Vascular Surgery residency or fellowship

Board Certified or Board Eligible in Vascular Surgery

Eligible for medical licensure inMaine

DEA certification required

Pay Transparency

Central Maine Medical Center offers competitive compensation and a reasonable compensation estimate for this role is $537,000 to $618,000. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
