We have a challenging opportunity for a Precious Metals Clerk based out of our Springfield Gardens, NY location.Hourly rate: $22.50AM ShiftJob Summary: The Vault Clerk is responsible for monitoring, processing and verifying inbound and outbound shipments in the facility by physically sorting customer shipments, verifying inventory detail by comparing actual inventory to paperwork and otherwise ensuring precise control and record-keeping. This position functions in an armed environment and requires the enforcement of rules to protect the premises and property of Brink's and its customers, as well as the safety of all on the premises of Brink's.Key Responsibilities:Accept and deliver shipments of precious metals for BGS or outside carrier at facility.Perform audits on existing inventory to ensure vault integrity.Check in shipment from document provided by shipper or generated by Vault Manager, match pre-advised inventory detail to physical inventoryComplete necessary, audit-compliant paperwork for incoming and outgoing shipmentsPrepare shipments of precious metal to be sent out of facility, using allocation report (or other)Physically distribute individual precious metals to conform to customer requests and/or exchange warrantsCoordinate and work directly with Global Services supervisory and ops staffEnsure that all forms and packages are handled appropriatelyAssist with projects as necessaryProvide security by adhering to the General Security regulationsWork between BGS Precious Metal Vault locations as business dictatesWork a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, holidays and overtime as requiredPerform other duties as assigned or necessaryMinimum Qualifications:Minimum of 2 years of shipping and receiving experience and/or related industry experience processing shipments/working in a fast paced logistics environment.Demonstrated PC proficiency with Microsoft OfficeMinimum of 21 years of ageA valid firearms permit or ability to pass applicable firearms licensing requirementsA valid guard card or ability to obtain a guard card or any other required licensesAbility to lift and carry 75 pounds on a consistent basis throughout the assigned work dayPreferred Qualifications:Experience in the freight or security transportation businessExperience providing efficient and accurate customer services for import/export customers.Experience in banking handling currency or working in an environment where high value liability is managed/stored.Professional Skills:Good verbal and written communication skills.
