Job description
Vent Assembly TechnicianWe are seeking a dedicated Vent Assembly Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assembling and building vents, a smaller part of the HVAC unit used in hospitals and schools. You will work closely with a small team of 2-3 people, utilizing a bill of materials to ensure accurate assembly. Your role will involve fastening parts using hand tools, soldering, and power tools, as well as building boxes and packaging completed vents for shipment. A simple pen and paper tracking system will be used to manage inventory and track progress.ResponsibilitiesAssemble and build vents for HVAC units in hospitals and schools.Collaborate with a small team using a bill of materials to ensure precise assembly.Utilize hand tools, soldering, and power tools to fasten parts.Build boxes and package completed vents for shipment.Maintain inventory records using a pen and paper tracking system.Essential SkillsStrong mechanical aptitude.Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools.Ability to read and follow instructions based on bills of materials (BOMs).Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in assembly, construction, or custom build environments is a plus.Ownership of personal power tools and hand tools is advantageous.Why Work Here?Join a leading manufacturer in a supportive, team-oriented environment where everyone is dedicated to helping each other succeed. The facility is older but equipped with fans to manage summer temperatures. The environment is dynamic, with the sound of machines and power tools. Colleagues are supportive, creating a helpful atmosphere where questions are encouraged and assistance is readily available. Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with optional overtime on Saturdays.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Benton Harbor, MI.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
