nnThis position is part of the VBA MDE (Veterans Benefits Administration Medical Disabilities Examinations) program.
nnStart date: ASAP pending training and credentialing

n nnYour Daily Responsibilities:
nnConduct assessments that help the VA answer questions about the Veterans’ current health.
nPrior to every exam, the practitioner reviews each Veteran’s medical or mental health history, using electronic bookmarks that highlight the portions applicable to the Veteran’s claim(s) condition.
nThis material, paired with the Veteran’s responses collected during the exam, guides the practitioner through our web-based examination form.
nElectronic exam documentation needs to be submitted within 24 hours of each appointment.
nCommon exams include: musculoskeletal, cardio and respiratory.
nAncillaries (X-rays, labs, EKGs, PFTs, ABIs) may be ordered and will be conducted on-site or nearby depending on clinic capability.
nThe practitioner will not make a determination of percent of disability or rating, develop any treatment plans or prescribe medication.
nElectronic exam documentation must be submitted within 24 hours of each appointment.
n nnMinimum Qualifications if Nurse Practitioner – NP:
nnMaster’s degree or higher from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
nNationally recognized as a Nurse Practitioner.
nPreferred clinical experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
nHolds a current NP and RN license in State of Practice.
