Role Overview:
The Medical Lead Veterinarian champions clinical excellence, mentoring associate veterinarians, and fostering a collaborative team environment.
Leadership & Mentorship: Manage and support DVM team members through performance discussions, coaching, and promoting professional growth.
Medical Excellence: Set high standards for quality care, serve as a role model in medicine and client service, and practice alongside team members.
Hospital Performance: Collaborate with management to develop operational plans, monitor financial performance, and ensure regulatory compliance.
Professional Development: Lead medical meetings, supervise externship programs, and promote a culture of continual learning and recruitment.
Community Engagement: Represent the hospital at local events and educational institutions, enhancing community relationships.
Qualifications & Skills:
DVM degree with valid licensing, minimum of 2 years clinical experience, strong leadership and communication skills, and a willingness to learn hospital management aspects. Proficiency in computer skills and enthusiasm for professional growth are essential.
Key Duties:
Practice comprehensive medicine across wellness, diagnostics, urgent care, and surgical procedures, including exotics.
