Job description
Who we are:
Friendship Pet Hospital & Wellness Center has proudly served the pets and families of Schertz, San Antonio, and New Braunfels for more than a decade — and we’re continuing to grow. We’re searching for a compassionate, collaborative Associate Veterinarian who’s excited to practice high-quality medicine in a supportive environment where your voice, growth, and well-being truly matter.
At Friendship, we believe exceptional veterinary care starts with an exceptional team. Our culture is built on respect, communication, and collaboration — without the drama or burnout often found in the industry. Whether you’re an experienced DVM looking to expand your skills or a veterinarian interested in future leadership opportunities, you’ll be surrounded by people who genuinely enjoy working together and supporting one another.
Why Veterinarians Love Friendship Pet Hospital:
Collaborative, experienced team with a strong 3:1 technician-to-DVM ratio
Long-tenured staff who create consistency, trust, and a positive daily culture
Freedom to practice medicine your way while having supportive colleagues to collaborate with on complex cases
Same-day urgent care, wellness services, advanced surgery, and comprehensive dentistry with full-mouth radiographs for every dental patient
Thorough anesthetic monitoring and modern diagnostic equipment that allow you to practice high-quality medicine confidently
A clear pathway to leadership for veterinarians interested in professional growth
Most importantly — there are NO weekends and NO on-call shifts, because we believe great medicine and work-life balance should go hand in hand.
What We Offer:
Competitive compensation package
Medical, dental, and vision insurance
401(k)
CE allowance and professional dues reimbursement
Liability coverage
Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
Generous paid time off
A genuinely supportive environment where your career can thrive!
Located just northeast of San Antonio, Schertz offers the perfect mix of small-town charm and modern convenience. Known for its excellent schools, family-friendly atmosphere, and easy access to everything San Antonio has to offer, it’s a wonderful place to build both a career and a life.
If you’re looking for a hospital where collaboration is valued, quality medicine is prioritized, and your weekends are truly your own — Friendship Pet Hospital & Wellness Center may be exactly what you’ve been searching for.
