Associate Veterinarian – Westonka Animal Hospital
Full-Time | Lake Minnetonka / Mound, MN
Whether you love the relationships and continuity of everyday GP, want to become more confident in surgery and dentistry, enjoy working through interesting medical cases, or simply want to become an exceptionally well‑rounded veterinarian, there's room to build your career around the medicine you enjoy most.
You'll be joining an established veterinary team where collaboration, case discussion, and shared medical knowledge are valued.
You won't be expected to practice medicine on an island here.
New Graduate Mentorship – Build Confidence the Right Way: New graduates will benefit from our structured, one-year New Graduate Mentorship Program , including a dedicated Clinical Mentor, intentional schedule overlap, regular mentor meetings, goal-setting, virtual learning opportunities, and coaching around client communication and professional development.
You'll also have access to our 5-day Surgical Mentorship Program , offered year-round in a small-group environment where participants typically complete approximately 20–40 surgeries , as well as a 2-day Dental Wet Lab led by our veterinary dental specialist and designed to build confidence in everyday dentistry.
Pair that structured mentorship with an established hospital environment and a broad GP caseload, and you have an excellent place to develop your clinical judgment while progressively becoming more independent.

More Than Routine GP – Surgery & Interesting Cases: For veterinarians who enjoy surgery or want to continue developing their procedural skills, Westonka offers exposure beyond routine spays and neuters. The hospital performs laser surgery, growth removals, emergency wound and laceration repair, splenectomies, intestinal foreign-body procedures, and other advanced surgeries , creating opportunities to continue developing procedural and surgical confidence.

Who We're Looking For
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree.
A valid state license and in good standing to practice.
A collaborative spirit and a dedication to practicing the highest standard of medicine.
Excellent communication skills with a positive, friendly attitude.
