Eastern Carolina Veterinary Referral, the only 24/7 emergency and specialty hospital in coastal North Carolina, is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Internist to join our growing team in Wilmington, NC. In your day-to-day, you will:

Provide advanced anesthesia care for complex specialty, emergency, surgical, and interventional cases.

Collaborate closely with specialists in surgery, internal medicine, cardiology, critical care, radiology, medical oncology, neurology, and emergency medicine.

Support complex procedures utilizing ARISE’s advanced diagnostic and interventional capabilities, including CT, MRI, endoscopy, ultrasound, and C-arm fluoroscopy.

Contribute to the hospital’s teaching environment by working alongside residents, interns, and veterinary student externs.

Partner closely with veterinarians, technicians, and support teams to provide seamless, compassionate patient care.

Help foster a culture of mentorship, knowledge-sharing, and continuous learning.

Communicate clearly and empathetically with pet owners during stressful and emotional situations.

What You Bring

DVM or equivalent veterinary degree with eligibility for state veterinary licensure.

Board Certification in Anesthesiology or residency training in Veterinary Anesthesiology.

Strong clinical skills and an interest in complex anesthesia and perioperative case management.

Strong communication skills with a compassionate, client-centered approach.

A collaborative mindset and commitment to exceptional patient care.

A passion for teaching, mentorship, continuous learning, and advancing specialty medicine.
