Veterinary Assistant

Boston Veterinary Clinic – Bay Village | Boston, MA

Boston Veterinary Clinic – Bay Village is looking for a full-time Veterinary Assistant to join our collaborative team. As the flagship location of the Boston Veterinary Clinic network, our AAHA Accredited and Fear Free Certified® hospital is dedicated to providing exceptional care while creating a positive experience for both our patients and team members.

Position Details

Location:  363 Tremont Street, Boston, MA 02116

Compensation: $20–$24/hour  (based on experience)

Schedule:  35–40 hours per week with  every other Saturday

Practice Management Software:  EzyVet

About Our Hospital

Opened in 2014 as the first Boston Veterinary Clinic location, Bay Village is a full-service small animal hospital caring for dogs and cats throughout the Greater Boston area. Our 4-doctor team works alongside experienced veterinary technicians, assistants, and client service professionals to provide high-quality, relationship-centered care.

Medical Services

You'll assist with a variety of cases and procedures, including:

Preventive and wellness care

Sick pet appointments

Soft tissue surgery

Dentistry

Digital radiology

Ultrasound

In-house laboratory diagnostics

Laser therapy

Urgent care during business hours

We're Looking For

Committed to Fear Free patient handling techniques

Proficient in Restraint

Solid understanding of core vs. lifestyle vaccines

Venipuncture experience is preferred

Detail-oriented with the ability to closely monitor patients before, during, and after anesthesia

Thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative hospital environment

Your Impact as a Veterinary Assistant

Provide Essential Patient Care: You'll be a key player in the health of our patients, assisting the medical team with hands-on care and ensuring every animal is treated with compassion and respect.

Be the Go-To Support for the Medical Team: You'll be the backbone of the clinic, anticipating the needs of veterinarians and technicians to ensure a smooth, efficient, and collaborative workflow.

Create a Positive Client Experience: You'll help create a seamless visit for our clients by assisting with scheduling, payments, and communications, always with a courteous and informative approach.

Ensure a Safe and Clean Environment: You'll take pride in maintaining the hospital, performing clinic upkeep and equipment maintenance to uphold our high standards of care.

What You'll Bring to the Team

A High School Diploma or equivalent.

A calm and efficient approach, with the ability to handle a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment with composure.

Confidence and skill in handling pets of all sizes and temperaments.

Strong organizational and communication skills.

Proficiency in fundamental veterinary skills ranging from laboratory and pharmacy to nursing and radiology is a strong asset.
