Veterinary ReceptionistVeterinary Emergency and Specialty Hospitals (VESH) is seeking a Veterinary Receptionist to join our South Deerfield, MA team. In this client-facing role, you'll be an important connection between pet owners and our emergency and specialty medical teams while helping create a welcoming, organized, and supportive experience from arrival through discharge.Compensation: $19.50–$24.00/hour based on knowledge and experience + $2/hour shift differential for 4 p.m.–12 a.m. shiftsFull-Time Benefits:Continuing Education + Free VetBloom access (RACE-approved CE)Paid Shoe Stipend & Scrubs provided (free to you!)CVT/LVT/RVT license reimbursementRECOVER Training for advanced CPR skillsVeterinary Technician Education Sponsorships + VTNE reimbursement + VTS Support16-Week VTNE Study GroupProfessional Development AssistancePTO + Sick TimeEmployee Referral Bonuses + Employee Pet Discount + Immediate Family Pet DiscountAccess exclusive financial benefits to help you save on student loans, mortgages, and personal loansNVA Pet Resort Discount + Pet Insurance DiscountMedical, Dental, Vision + HSA/FSA OptionsInsurance Options: Life and AD&D + Short & Long-Term Disability + Critical Illness + Accident + Hospital Indemnity401(k) with employer matchEmployee Assistance ProgramSchedule:Four 9-hour shiftsRotating days and nightsRotating weekends and holidaysResponsibilities:Serve as the first point of contact for clients, responding to questions and concerns in a warm, friendly, and confident manner.Create a positive client experience while supporting VESH's commitment to high-quality customer service and patient care.Gather accurate client and patient information and help manage the client journey from arrival through invoicing.Help clients understand their pet's situation and associated charges, escalating medical questions to the appropriate clinical team.Coordinate triage for walk-in patients by contacting nursing staff for patient evaluations.Calmly and confidently facilitate patient handoffs to the nursing team.Serve as a central communication point between clients, medical teams, and hospital management.Direct questions and information to the appropriate team members to support clear, timely communication.Handle referring veterinarian (RDVM) callbacks, faxes, and inquiries.Support reception operations, including financial transactions and medical recordkeeping.Help maintain an organized, welcoming reception environment for clients and their pets.Qualifications:Demonstrated experience providing excellent customer or client service.Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to explain information clearly and build positive relationships.Ability to remain calm, compassionate, and professional while supporting clients during stressful or emotional situations.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.Ability to manage multiple priorities and communicate effectively in a fast-paced veterinary hospital environment.Comfortable collaborating with clients, medical staff, and hospital leadership.Genuine commitment to creating a positive experience for pets and the people who care for them.Fluent English speaking and reading skills required.About the Hospital:Like human medical specialists, VESH supports primary care veterinarians with the evaluation and treatment of pets affected by trauma, chronic issues, serious illness, or unusual disorders requiring advanced training, while also providing critical and emergency veterinary care.We offer a variety of specialty services including Advanced Imaging (CT), Internal Medicine, Surgery, Medical Oncology, and Emergency and Critical Care.At VESH, you'll join a collaborative team committed to exceptional medicine, compassionate care, and continued learning.
