Portland Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Care (PVESC) is a growing multi-specialty and emergency veterinary practice in beautiful Portland, Maine. Our new 42,000-square-foot hospital is opening soon , creating exciting opportunities to grow with our expanding surgical and specialty services.
We re looking for an organized, detail-oriented team member to support our surgical department by ensuring instruments, equipment, and operating rooms are clean, sterile, stocked, and ready for every procedure.
What You ll Do
Clean, inspect, assemble, and prepare surgical instruments for sterilization
Operate and maintain steam and ethylene oxide sterilization equipment
Maintain aseptic technique and sterile fields
Perform sterility checks and re-sterilize implants and inventory as needed
Monitor and maintain OR inventory and supply levels
Clean and disinfect OR rooms, equipment, and surfaces according to hospital protocols
Restock instruments and supplies and maintain an organized surgical environment
Support the surgical team in maintaining a safe, efficient OR
What We re Looking For
Veterinary or surgical experience preferred
Strong organizational and communication skills
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Basic understanding of surgical instrumentation and sterile technique
Detail-oriented and committed to safety and infection control
Able to stand, bend, stoop, and move throughout the hospital as needed
Schedule & Compensation
Full-time
Monday Wednesday, 9:00 AM 7:30 PM
Saturday, 8:00 AM 6:30 PM
Some holidays required
$22 $27/hour , based on experience
