Job description

Opportunity

L+M Companies is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Vice President to support investment strategy, fund-side and acquisition rehab origination and selected asset management initiatives across L+M’s West Coast portfolio.

This role will spend significant time originating and screening new multifamily investment opportunities for LMFM’s fund vehicles, including identifying deals that may be well-suited for 4% LIHTC executions, while also helping asset manage select West Coast assets and supporting senior leadership on market strategy.

Responsibilities

Originate and screen multifamily investment opportunities nationally for LMFM’s fund vehicles, with a strong focus on the West Coast and other target growth markets.

Evaluate whether potential acquisitions are suitable for conventional equity, public-private partnership, or 4% LIHTC execution strategies.

Support a high volume of fund-side origination by tracking pipeline activity, assessing market fit, and prioritizing opportunities for senior leadership review.

Underwrite prospective investments, including financial modeling, market analysis, rent and expense benchmarking, return sensitivities, and capital structure review.

Help asset manage select L+M West Coast portfolio assets, including monitoring performance against business plans, supporting reporting, and coordinating with asset management and property teams.

Build and maintain relationships with brokers, sellers, developers, lenders, public agency counterparts, and other market participants.

Prepare investment committee materials, pipeline updates, asset-level summaries, and market research for senior leadership.

Coordinate with acquisitions, asset management, legal, finance, and capital formation teams to support deal execution, portfolio oversight, and investor-facing materials as needed.

Qualifications

8–10 years of experience in multifamily acquisitions, real estate private equity, investment management, asset management, investment banking, or a related field.

Strong financial modeling, underwriting, and analytical skills, with experience evaluating multifamily investment opportunities and business plans.

Familiarity with 4% LIHTC executions, tax-exempt bonds, public-private partnerships, HUD/agency debt, and affordable or workforce housing investment structures.

Ability to manage a high volume of origination activity while maintaining discipline around screening, prioritization, and follow-through.

Experience with asset management, portfolio monitoring, investor reporting, or execution of value-add/business plan strategies preferred.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to summarize deal opportunities, portfolio performance, and market themes for senior stakeholders.

Highly organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable working across acquisitions, asset management, finance, legal, and capital formation teams.

Travel required. This is a remote position; West Coast candidates are strongly preferred, though other strong candidates will be considered.
