Job description
Own an enterprise analytics engineering roadmap within JPMorganChase’s Risk Management and Compliance (RM&C) Data Analytics and Intelligent Automation organization.
Responsibilities
Architect and implement end-to-end pipelines on Databricks using Delta Live Tables (DLT) , Delta Lake , and Unity Catalog for governance, lineage, and access controls
Build ingestion and integration pipelines in Python and PySpark , consuming JPMC data products into a Lakehouse ; use Alteryx and Prophecy as feeder tools where appropriate
Design a governed self-service layer in Databricks SQL with curated semantic models, intuitive views, and controlled exposure for independent business exploration
Partner with data product owners and data architects to ensure data governance, including cataloging, lineage, ownership, and entitlements
Advise on cloud analytics strategy, including onboarding new Databricks users and citizen developers by defining enablement patterns, required entitlements, technical requirements, and governance
Communicate clearly with senior, non-technical stakeholders and translate data into actionable narratives and decisions
Deliver executive-ready dashboards and self-service analytics using Tableau and/or Sigma on Databricks-served data
Leverage AI tooling such as GitHub Copilot to accelerate development while maintaining independent technical ownership and validating AI-generated code and documentation
Requirements
Degree/certification in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a related field
7-8+ years in data or analytics engineering or BI in a regulated environment
Hands-on independent proficiency in ETL/pipeline design, development, testing, and operations
Hands-on independent proficiency in Advanced SQL , including writing, optimization, and troubleshooting
Hands-on independent proficiency in Python and PySpark , with production-grade implementation experience
Hands-on independent proficiency in Databricks Lakehouse architecture , including pipelines, Delta Lake , and Unity Catalog
Hands-on independent proficiency in enterprise BI/visualization with Tableau and/or Sigma
Strong schema and modeling experience for integrated datasets; practical knowledge of data mesh concepts
Strong written and verbal communication for senior audiences
Comfort working in controlled environments, including change management, access controls, Git , Jules , and ServiceNow
Demonstrated customer-centric delivery, including requirements negotiation, adoption enablement, and building self-service or citizen-developer platforms
Demonstrated experience implementing a Databricks strategy in an enterprise environment, including operating model, governance, onboarding and enablement, and scalable adoption patterns
Experience designing semantic layers and governed BI models, ideally with Databricks SQL
