Job description
We're partnering with a leading private credit investment firm that's looking to bring on a VP of Credit to lead the underwriting, structuring, and risk management of private credit and asset-based lending transactions. The role will have significant ownership across the deal lifecycle, work closely with senior investment professionals, and oversee a team of credit professionals.
Responsibilities
Lead underwriting and due diligence across new private credit, asset-based lending, and structured credit opportunities.
Evaluate borrower financials, cash flows, collateral, capital structures, and downside risks.
Build and review financial models to assess credit risk, returns, and transaction structures.
Structure key deal terms, including advance rates, covenants, eligibility criteria, and concentration limits.
Prepare and present credit memos and investment recommendations to senior management and investment committees.
Conduct stress testing and ongoing portfolio monitoring.
Work closely with legal, investors, counterparties, and other internal teams throughout the deal lifecycle.
Manage and develop a team of Analysts and Associates.
Requirements
5-8 years of experience in private credit, leveraged finance, securitization, structured credit, or a related field.
Strong credit underwriting, financial analysis, and modeling skills.
Experience with loan documentation, covenants, and transaction structuring.
Ability to independently manage complex transactions from underwriting through closing.
Strong communication and presentation skills.
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field.
